2020 Twilight Polo
Update as of June 9, 2020
Great Meadow Foundation was hopeful to begin the Twilight Polo season on June 13th, but we are going to need some additional time to work out logistical challenges before we can open the gates to the general public. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of all of our friends that join us throughout the summer.
Presently, we will be trying a new format for our Saturday night polo. Starting June 13, will be hosting Saturday evening Tailgate Polo on the Grass at Great Meadow. This new format will feature our grass field as the venue. Tailgate Polo on the Grass at Great Meadow will feature fast-paced polo, socially distanced tailgate parking spaces, and broadcast announcing through FM radio transmission in addition to many other safety measures intended to provide the safest experience for the polo ponies, players, and spectators.
To allow the Great Meadow staff time to ensure a smooth event in this completely new format, we will limit the first several nights of polo to Great Meadow’s current Twilight Polo season box and tailgate holders. As we get more experience with this currently mandated new format, we anticipate opening additional tailgates to the public.
We apologize to all of our great friends and supporters who were looking forward to Twilight Polo. All of us here at Great Meadow are anxious to return to Twilight Polo at Great Meadow later in the summer. The Great Meadow Polo Club and John Gobin cannot wait to get back in Greenhill Stadium to play polo in front of the best polo audience. We ask that you be patient and understanding as we navigate this new setup in this ever changing world.
